British Colonial Teakwood Desk

Mid 19th century

A British colonial teakwood pedestal desk. The rectangular top with carved blind fretwork and a black leather insert. The deep frieze has one long drawer flanked by two short drawers. The central kneehole is flanked either side by three drawers with original swan neck brass handles. The desk is paneled on all sides including the back so it can stand in the centre of the room. It stands on short cabriole legs ending in claw feet. The desk splits into three sections (the top and two pedestals) which aids transportation.
