Anglo-Indian Teakwood Barrister BookcaseEarly 20th century
A very unusual double sided barrister style bookcase in teakwood with glazed doors. Both sides feature five book shelves, each with its own beveled glazed door with brass handles that uses an “up and over” mechanism for opening. The bookcase can be closed using a plank that hinges on the full length of the cabinet. The base with a serpentine shaped plinth rests on bracket feet.
The bookcase is in good condition and has been lovingly restored and finished to its former glory using a traditional from of French polishing and waxing.
