Indo-Dutch teakwood & rosewood chestEarly 19th century
A Dutch colonial storage chest in teakwood with a rosewood frame all around. The hinged overlapping top and the sides are all made of one piece of wood.
The front panel features a small brass escutcheon, the sides have cast bail lift handles.
The inside reveals beautiful brass strap hinges and a large storage space with on the right side a lidded document compartment.
The chest rests on four small rosewood turned legs ending in peg feet.
