Anglo-Indian Teakwood Extending Dining TableMid 19th century
An exceptional British colonial teakwood dining table with rounded corners. The top, with a deep moulded edge, extends well beyond the base.
The table has a telescopic under-frame that extends via a winding mechanism, which allows the table to be extended while the centre leg remains in place. It has three additional leaves of 47 cm (18½”) each.
The elegant legs with a carved top and reeded tapering shafts terminate in brass casters.
Fully extended, the table measures 303 cm x 115 cm (or 10 feet x 3 feet & 9”) and can seat 12 people comfortably.
