Anglo-Indian Rosewood Four Poster Bed – SOLDLate 19th century
A late Regency style, king sized four-poster bed in rosewood. At the centre of the curved headboard is a rectangular block defined by alternating, vertically-positioned slats, flanked on either side by arched horizontally positioned slats. This is mirrored in the footboard in a rectangular form. The four parts making the canopy are attached to the posts and have wooden finials. The posts are plain at the top with a ring followed by tapered reeded section and a cylinder of spiral reeding.
The bed, that can be fully disassembled, rests on short, spiral reeded legs that flare out at the bottom and terminate in ball feet.
