Anglo-Indian Rosewood Four Poster Bed

Late 19th century

A late Regency, king sized four-poster bed in rosewood. At the centre of the curved headboard is a rectangular block defined by alternating, vertically-positioned slats, flanked on either side by arched horizontally positioned slats.

The four parts making the canopy are attached to the posts and have wooden finials. The posts have rings carving at the top followed by a tapered reeded section and a cylinder of spiral carving.

The bed, that can be fully disassembled, rests on short, spiral reeded legs that flare out at the bottom and terminate in ball feet.

King sized mattress: 203 x 183 or 80” x 72”
The bed has been further styled with a collection of Good Earth dupion silk and cotton cushions. Click to view our collection of Bed Covers & Cushions here.
